Whitings on the Wall

Sheringham Little Theatre

Geoff and his childhood best mate grew up on Sprowston Road, Norwich. A coal merchant and salesman, they eventually clubbed together to buy their ‘dream horse’. That horse was Sprowston Boy, and it went on to win the final and most coveted race at Royal Ascot ‘87, jockeyed by the first, and only, female to ever win it.

Written by Katie-anna Whiting, the show is based on her grandfather's scrapbook, containing every newspaper article relating to the event.

“You see, it is all true. Well…most of it”.

With original music by Skinny Boy Tunes, as featured on BBC Radio 6 and BBC Introducing. Supported by Arts Council England.

"It was extraordinary; like nothing I've seen before"
