Young actor Simon Prentice auditions for the lead role in a local amateur dramatic production of Hamlet.
He meets director Tom Grainger and the lives of the two men become entwined as they delve into the Shakespearean classic, drawing on the rich language of the original script and finding links to Disney’s Lion King and everyday life.
There is fun to be had as the director puts Simon through his acting paces, but slowly we learn that the actor has more in common with the Bard’s Prince of Denmark than meets the eye…with some amazing and dark plot twists along the way.
