Barney Broom works in the film industry. As a writer/director he has won awards for this work, having made commercials, documentaries for both TV and cinema. He will be giving talks about the history of Hollywood. In 2002/03 Barney was involved in the Borobudur Ship Expedition sailing a replica vessel across the Indian Ocean in the wake of 8th century Indonesian migration to Africa. The documentary produced entitled Braving the Cape was sold to Discovery. As well as presenting his series of talks on the British Film Industry and the history of Hollywood, work is currently underway adapting LUST FOR POWER for a proposed television drama series.

Barney is a member of BAFTA and the Director's Guild of Great Britain. As an author, Barney has written five novels (https://amzn.to/3ySPShi) 
5. Decline and Fall
Changes in the system. The moguls aging, fail to adapt to the emergence of television. Ultimately removed from their seats of power.
6. The Phoenix Rises
The last of the original moguls Darryl Zanuck passing in 1979 the presentation looks at Hollywood's changing role in today's world. What happened to the studios? How they changed and what changed them (technology). Steve Jobs and Apple. The Movie Brats – now established Hollywood figures (Spielberg etc) and why Tinsel Town remains the global media capital.
