The Playwriting Competition

Our theatre president Suranne Jones and her husband and TeamAkers Productions partner, Laurence Akers will host this special event to showcase and discuss the two winning entries from the playwriting competition, which will be read to a live audience by professional actors. Entrants were asked to create a one-act play on a theme of coastal life, lasting 60 minutes, and with no more than six characters. The Coastlife Sheringham Little Theatre Playwriting Prize is being supported by Suranne and Laurence through TeamAkers, which is also a patron of the theatre. Initial entries were whittled down to a shortlist of five before the final two were chosen by a panel of judges drawn from a playwright, director, theatre worker, actor and regular playgoer.
