An evening of politics, intrigue, and good humour!

Join us for what promises to be a fascinating and light-hearted conversation between two of Britain’s most distinguished public servants:

Baroness Gillian Shephard of Northwold, former Secretary of State in John Major’s Cabinet, who held portfolios including Education, Employment and Agriculture – and now Chair of the Association of Conservative Peers. Born in Cromer, Gillian brings warmth, wit and insight to everything she does.

Baron Robin Butler of Brockwell, former Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service, advised Prime Ministers Thatcher, Major and Blair through some of the most politically sensitive events of the late 20th century, including the arms to Iraq and “cash-for-questions” inquiries.

Together, they’ll reflect on decades at the heart of British politics – and offer a unique window into the inner workings of Whitehall and Westminster.
