The multi – award – winning Ephemeral Ensemble (The Guardian’s best theatre show of 2024) comes for the first time to SLT.
UPROOTED is a tropical-punk, ecofeminist rallying cry theatre show, and is inspired by the voices of displaced people and frontline environmental defenders in Latin America.While territories are carved up by contracts inked in blood, steel blades arrive to tear up the roots of communities. Through powerful live music, striking visuals and fierce movement, the ensemble rages against the machinery of colonialism, and excavates networks of oppression and resistance to sow seeds of a future that is wilder, interconnected and defiantly alive.
