An SLT Production
Sheringham Hall
Come and join us in the beautiful setting of Sheringham Hall for this exciting new promenade version of this classic and much-loved tale, written by James McDermott.
Follow the story as the characters move between different locations – it is the start of Spring and deep in the Norfolk countryside, socially anxious Mole has made the New Year’s resolution to go outside for the first time: he's used to spending his days indoors and online. Outside, Mole meets lonely ratty Ratty who, by showing him the beauty of the countryside, helps Mole fall in love with the outside world. All is calm until badgering Badger appears to tell them their friend, the arrogant money-hungry politician and landowner Mister Toad, is selling off the countryside to weasels – local property developers – who will turn their beloved country into a second home holiday resort for the rich! Time for action!
The performance will be one hour with no interval.
This is a Promenade production and audiences will be required to follow the action around the grounds of Sheringham Hall.
In collaboration with Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2026.
