Hub coffee bar reopens with a new look – but familiar warm welcome
One more sleep! Our new-look Hub coffee bar opens its doors tomorrow (Saturday February 11) after a major makeover.
BBC Look East presenter Jenny Kirk (pictured below) will perform the ceremony at 11am, and we are really excited about sharing our facelift with our friends.
After a month-long closure we are looking forward to welcoming back “regulars” with our popular selection of home-made sandwiches, savouries and cakes.
But we would also love to see new faces exploring our menu, new décor, and what our venue has to offer as a meeting place and performance venue.
The same friendly showbiz vibe will be here in our coffee bar, but with different “scenery”.
Our revamp was triggered by the need to repair damage caused by a water leak. But we took the opportunity to gather funding to refresh the café – which is a vital income stream that helps fund the drama, music and movies we offer in our arts programming.
There’s marble-effect table tops and counters, retro flooring, brown leather seating – along with new lighting, coffee machine and some funky mirrored walls.
So please drop in. We are open from 10-3 Monday to Saturday.
And how about visiting one of the first shows in our new-look theatre? Tonight sees the staging of Phoney Towers – an hilarious tribute to the hotel mayhem of Fawlty Towers featuring favourite characters Basil, Sybil and Manuel – plus some surprise hotel guests. Tickets for the 7.30pm show are £18 from HERE or the box office on 01263 822347.
