Seabird stars in uplifting children’s show
A young puffin is the star of a new children’s show flying into Sheringham during a nationwide tour.
Percy needs to literally spread his wings for the first time, so he can leave home and join the rest of the flock on their migration south for the winter. But he likes his burrow too much.
What he doesn’t realise is that if he cannot learn to fly and stays at home, he will be in mortal danger.
His saviour is a fearless field mouse friend called Shrimp who helps him on his adventure, which is brought to life in a charming children’s show aimed at four to 11-year-olds. It charts the unlikely pals’ perilous trip using magical puppetry, and original music and songs.
The heart-warming and uplifting story about overcoming fear and finding friendship is at Sheringham Little Theatre on Friday February 21 at 2pm.
The show is performed by Iris Schmid, puppeteer Alicia Britt and Harriette Ashcroft who performs songs she has written for the production, which is on a spring tour stretching from Lowestoft and London to Aberystwyth and Glastonbury. It is a co-production with Norwich Puppet Theatre and fully funded by the Arts Council. Tickets (£10, u-16s £8) here, or call the box office 01263 822347.
